Triangle QAL progress

Alrighty!!!  Good Thursday!  I have been running my rear off the last two days.  It was Parent Teacher Conference and early release for the children.   To make a long story short, both of my girls are doing very well in school…"the work we do at home is not in vein."  Tee hee!

Okay, so what else is going on?  Soups's on!  Yes, bean soup!  Not my kind of spring palette, but I find if I don't have something readily prepared/available to eat, I perish into things I should not be eating; and since I am part pig, that could be anything I lay my hands on such as chips, cookies, cake, pie, donuts, you name it, but only in small portions.  LOL.  Anywho…I titled the scale this morning for a weight check and it tells me, I have lost two blessed pounds. Hummm, I'll take it!   Ahhhh, TMI, but this is my journal too:)!   Don't rain on my parade:).

Alright, I shall move along.  On the stitching and quilting front, my time has been hampered and challenged to get much of anything done.  My DH was also painting the trim on the house, so I became a ladder holder, could you mail this package for me, and honey, would you bring me something to drink also.  Yikes!  "People!"  I only have four hands!!!  I have got to get these folks off the mommy drug.

Here we go!  My last post on the Triangle QAL, the cutting of the triangles completed.  The next step, layout the quilt, couple the triangles.  Well…I screwed the pooch on this one.  I thought the entire top had to be sewn into rows and the entire quilt top needed to be complete by today.  Lucky me…only the triangles needed to be sewn together by today.  Well, I suppose I can hold my fire a bit on this.

I have five rows sewn together and the pic above is my progress.  I had a layout, but, by the time I took the triangles to the sewing machine, sewed and pressed, the layout somehow went out the door.  LOL.  So the layout I am using is "Just Go For It," and I think it's going just fine.

That does it for me here and I am going to see what I will bandwagon on next.

In the meantime, gonna go Breathe.

Kind regards,

A few framed finishes

Good day!!!  Just look at these beauties.  Do they not ring sunshine:)?  I surely believe so.

What have I been working on???  CCN Carrot cake (UFO).  I am aiming for a spring finish on it and I hope to be finished with the stitching soon.

After dropping my girls off at school this morning, I rushed out to pick up my frames for these finishes and then hit the treadmill…  Tadahhhh!!!  Love them!!!

This was my first finish for this year...

Stitcher's Verse
Waiting and waiting for a frame is LHN, Garden Fresh finished a couple years ago.
Littlehouse Needleworks, Garden Fresh
and finally, finally…got the inner strength to get this piece framed for my little angel.

This does it for me here again until next time.

Kind regards,

Happy April

Happy April it is and I have a new start.   In between a few appointments and errands this week thus far, I've been working on Prairie Schooler, Birdsong I.  Such a really cute verse.

Alrighty...I was thumbing through one of my magazines the other day, and I came across this quote.

"Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never DANCED IN THE RAIN."

A few weeks ago, I put together the below inspiration board for one of the Thimbleblossoms, Mini quilt, Puddle Jumping.  I have vivid memories as a young girl, playing in the rain, jumping in and out of puddles and streams of water, walking home from school.  Oh what fun that was:)

Today, I decided to participate with Sherri @ A Quilting Life Blog to make one of the mini quilts from Thimbleblossoms for the month of April; so mini puddles it will be.

That does it for me here.

Kind regards:)

Wall Hanging Finish

Hey Ya! :))

I'm "Happy!!!"  That is one peppy song I just listened to and it sure puts one in a good mood.  It is all over the radio by now I am sure of it.  More music and a finish!.  Ha!  I'm thrilled to tears.  I'm happy because I have a finish.

I was not feeling such when I selected these fabrics that adorn this wall hanging.  In fact, I was feeling very  uninspired a couple of months ago.  Absolutely nothing was lifting my skirt and I felt I was running in circles.  I bought these fabrics on a whim with no project in mind…I suppose I call this fabric therapy.

I used this freebie wall hanging pattern from Fons and Porter, Mrs. Sew & Sew and I am loving it.  It has more of a vintage take on this one.

This is the block that inspired me most as I am a dressmaker too, but not in recent months.  Tee hee!

The blocks on the right side of the wall hanging are the scissor, jar, and iron.  Too cute!

I hand embroidered the thread,

sewed a few buttons for the jar,

and well, just a vintage iron

...and here is my little wall hanging ready to be hung on the wall in my sewing space and that is exactly what I am going to do after I get off this squawk box.  I love it!!!

Alrighty then… this does it for me as my last finish for March.

Kind regards ya'll,
