Wrapping up December and 2012

Hello dears,

I hope you all had a wonderful relaxing Christmas.

It seems I've been in the kitchen for the last week, preparing our Christmas Dinner and still with all my effort, I spent another half day (of Christmas) in the kitchen.  I won't complain as the dinner was absolutely tasty,  followed on a relaxing evening.

There was not a lot of stitching going on this month, I was distracted by making a gingerbread man for DD (school project), which was a family project…so DD and I made the gingerbread fella out of cardboard, painted him brown, and gave with a sprinkle of glitter with rick rack, buttons and a bow,

He is much cuter in person.

Then her teacher wanted a stocking, labeled with their names for little goodies.  So this is what I ended up with, a Hello Kitty stocking and went right along with out pink and purple Christmas decor.

I've rejoined my local quilt guild and participated in a little gift exchange.  Some of the ladies are really getting into the wool appliques…so thought this was befitting;

a wool applique pillow.

I was surprised when I received this packet in the mail from another stitching sister,   Abbey Rose, Christmas House Sampler and threads.  I so thank you darling (you know who you are:)), and as I conveyed, I really do appreciate it and it warmed by heart.

It appears I did not get a good angle on this, but the sampler's message here is "Peace on Earth".  It came at a perfect time, as I really needed this bit of comfort.

Alright!  I have updated my 2012 finishes page by adding the photos I could find of the projects I finished during the year.  Wow!  I am in amazement too, so take a look if you all would like.

At the beginning of the year, I ventured out to create a bit of different Christmas for my family.  We've never had a pink and purple tree…we had other rainbows, but a pink and purple color way.

So here they are.  They were truly, truly, a lot of fun to do them each month, and of course some months I had to double up, because I really wanted to see this tree up and lighted for Christmas,

2012 Christmas Tree

Alrighty friends, this post will wrap it for me for 2012 and I hope you all enjoy the pics.

For 2013, I've signed on for several SALs, and will be working away from my stash, so I hope to see you all in passing.

Y'all take care and be safe for New Year's.

All my best to you all.

Always,

Jackie:)

Oh, Jackie--your purple and pink confections are so beautiful!! That is a gorgeous tree--very impressive. How nice of you to stitch the Hello Kitty stocking, too--I'll bet that was the cutest one in the class... Your daughter is lucky to have such a creative and crafty mother :)

You've had so many beautiful finishes this year--can't wait to see what 2013 brings!!

Wishing you and your family a joyous New Year, Jackie!!

Your pink and purple tree is wonderful. I'm glad you had a beautiful Christmas, just like you I spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking, but it was well worth it.
Happy New Year!

Oh Jackie, what a wonderful tree you created with your pink and purple ornaments. I love this colour combo and all these ornaments are so darling. Lucky you that you kept stitching these ornaments throughout the year - I have made several attempts but I've always failed. Maybe another year.
The stocking for your daughter is so creative, and you both made a wonderful gingerbreaqd man.
Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year.

I am always so impressed with the creations you and your daughters do together. The stocking was perfection to go along with the new colorways. Something different, cheery, and bright - and each one really pretty on that white tree.
Be well, stay safe, and Happy New Year!

The Gingerbread man was very cute, and I love the stocking you made! As to your tree, gorgeous, the pinks and purples are soooo pretty and the ornaments you made are perfect. I'm amazed you were able to finish so many. I keep meaning to make ornaments, but somehow never get around to it. Have a wonderful New Year!

You had a beautiful tree with wonderful finishes on it! I have a theme tree upstairs and I never thought of stitching some ornies with specific colors. You are so good at changing the charted colors! Your had a ton of finishes in 2012. I have to stitch Halloweenies twice...did you change any of the colors in yours? I wasn't thrilled with the colors when I pulled them for it.
